So, This Is It?

So, This Is It? is a small orchestral piece that tells the tragic tale of two ants caught in rising water. They desperately search for a way out, but none is to be found. As the water closes in, the two ants share a quiet goodbye—one slowly floats away, while the other disappears beneath the surface.

I originally wrote this piece as a meme for my Instagram page, but the music ended up matching the drama a little too well. Despite the humorous origins, the piece carries a surprisingly emotional weight. Lush harmonies, slow-moving textures, and subtle shifts in orchestration bring this miniature tragedy to life, giving a sense of grandeur to the ants’ final moments.
